Innovation:
Vikan has been on the cutting edge of creating cleaning tools for the food industry since 1898. The company pioneered the use of colour-coding for hygienic segregation of cleaning tools in the early 1990s. They were also among the first to use more easily cleanable plastic brush blocks in place of wood. Vikan also spearheaded the use of hygienic design in cleaning and material handling tools for the food industry. Today, Vikan continues to create innovative products, relying on feedback from their industry customers to ensure each product meets the needs of food manufacturers, retailers, and grocers.

Sustainability:
Vikan is committed to providing the most extensive range of effective, hygienic, and sustainable cleaning tools and solutions on the market. In an industry that requires virgin, non-recycled plastic, this isn’t a simple task. However, that doesn’t mean that Vikan isn’t rising to the challenge. They’ve improved emissions, changed to LED lights with sensor controls, optimized container packaging with an innovative solution to minimize waste, increased fill percentages, and created a Virtual Site Survey program to allow their representatives to help customers while decreasing their travelling. Vikan releases an annual Sustainability Report to hold themselves accountable to their environmental goals.

Modern Slavery:
Vikan ensures their products are made by employees who are fairly compensated for their work. The majority of manufacturing is done on-site in their Denmark and US locations, but suppliers are required to sign agreements that they won’t use any form of forced, bonded, or involuntary prison labour. Employees will not be required to pay any deposits, fees, or similar, or have their identity papers held. They are also free to leave after reasonable notice.

Employees must be, at minimum, age 15, and employees doing any hazardous work must be over 18 and provided with proper protective equipment and training.

Partnership:
Together with Vikan, JP Hygiene offers high-quality hygienically designed tools and training tailored to the food industry. JP Hygiene has been partnered with Vikan for over 25 years, so our representatives know the brand and its products. Our team has undergone training with the Vikan team and is ready to assist with any needs our customers may have, whether it’s setting up a joint site visit, conducting training, or answering simple product questions.

Vikan offers our customers speedy delivery with a direct shipment or delivery from Luton on JP Hygiene’s fleet of vehicles or preferred carrier network.

Training:
Vikan offers training to its customers and industry partners. During the in-person Site Survey process, an expert will come out to your plant and help you set up or update a colour-coding program, help you solve challenging cleaning tasks, and/or help you set up a tool program. Virtual Site Visits are powered by Microsoft HoloLens VR systems and allow you to have the same “hands-on” experience of a site visit without having to align travel schedules.

JP Hygiene Supplies representatives have also been trained by Vikan experts, so they can help you pick the right tool for each job, or help you with cleaning or sanitation challenges.
